Song: The music of this song was composed by Lakshmikant Pyarelal and the lyrics were written by Pandit Narendra Sharma.

The man sings, “Little Krishna asks her mother Yashoda, ‘Why is Radha fair and I am dark?’”

Within minutes of beginning the song, he begins to cough.

Thus the girl takes over, “Little Krishna asks her mother Yashoda, ‘Why is Radha fair and I am dark?’ The mother replied smiling, ‘You came in the dark night. You are my beloved son, with eyes like a black lotus. That is why you are dark.’ The mother also said this smiling, ‘Listen, my beloved son. Fair-complexioned Radha has dark-kohled eyes. The dark-eyed one has spread magic on you. That is why you are dark.’”

This is a small incident from the life of Lord Krishna that is being narrated. Lord Krishna asks his mother Yashoda, why he is dark and Radha is fair. The mother gives 2 reasons – one, the Lord was born on a dark night and two, he has fallen in love with Radha, whose eyes are dark with kohl.
