I watched that world go by through the eyes of a child, that‘a how I learned the truth, oh, the world has changed so much, we should’ve stayed in touch, I wonder where you are?

Soon, you had 3 cars in the drive, you were glad to be alone, so lucky to be alive.
Me, I was broken, I was beat.
But I was not on the streets in that world of beautiful…I watched that world go by, through the eyes of a child, that’s how I learned the truth, oh, the world had changed so much, we should’ve stayed in touch, I wondered where you’d gone.

Steve, I have to tell you when I first heard this song on you and Richard's album, I was blown away by the lyrics, " I find I'm losing sympathy for influences made on me that never helped my life to flower" touched me deeply and has remained my favorite quote/lyric ever since.
